Maniac on the run after stabbing passenger on downtown LA bus

A knife-wielding maniac stabbed a woman on a bus in downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning before fleeing the scene in a shocking daylight attack, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 6:55 a.m. aboard an LA Metro bus near Olympic Boulevard and Grand Avenue, the LAPD said.

The unidentified victim, who was seen walking to paramedics on the scene, was taken by paramedics to the hospital after the attack.
Video showed the victim being loaded into an ambulance before it drove away with sirens blaring.

The suspect — who remained on the loose as of late Saturday morning — was described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old. Cops said he was wearing a gray sweatshirt and a black cap.

It’s unclear why the suspect attacked, but the bus driver told a journalist for OnScene.TV that he pushed the victim before stabbing her in the stomach.

“I don’t know why he did that. He looked like a normal person,” the driver said.

The frightening attack happened on the LA Metro’s 76 bus line.
The suspect — who remained on the loose as of late Saturday morning — was described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old.
