5 hours ago 1

Manchester City may soon face a major change in goal as Ederson’s time at the club could be coming to an end.

After eight years of success and silverware under Pep Guardiola, the 31-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper is now attracting strong interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia and the situation is moving quickly.

According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Galatasaray have officially enquired about the goalkeeper’s availability.

The report also indicates that Brazilian international is “open” to the idea of playing for the Turkish club if his 'salary expectations' are met!.

Meanwhile, SportsWitness reports that another offer has come from an unnamed club in Saudi Arabia, offering him around €25m [$29m] per year which would make him one of the best-paid goalkeepers in the world.

City have not yet confirmed their plans for Ederson but they know his contract runs out in 2026 and they must decide whether to extend his stay or cash in now while he still has good market value.

After a season in which the team failed to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, or Club World Cup, changes are expected across the squad.

One of the club’s biggest leaders, Kevin De Bruyne, has already left this summer, and now Ederson could follow.

Manchester City moves to La Liga to find Ederson replacement

While nothing has been finalized yet, Cityzens are now preparing for life after Ederson by exploring their options in the Spanish league.

According to AS, the club has shown strong interest in Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen who is currently dealing with a difficult situation at his club.

The German has missed four straight training sessions and remains confined to the gym due to ongoing back pain that has raised serious concerns among the coaching staff.

Manager Hansi Flick has reportedly told Ter Stegen that he will not start the season as Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper and that role will now be given to Joan Garcia who joined from Espanyol.

The club has also renewed Wojciech Szczesny’s contract which leaves Ter Stegen in an awkward position especially with the World Cup just around the corner.

Barcelona are under pressure to reduce their wage bill and need to move players to meet La Liga’s financial rules which makes a deal for Ter Stegen more realistic than it would have been in previous seasons.
