Manchester City have entered the summer transfer window determined to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for every trophy next season.

After finishing third in the Premier League, the club moved quickly to add Tijjani Reijnders for £46m [$61m] from AC Milan, Rayan Cherki from Lyon for €36m [$41m] plus €6m [$7m] in bonuses and Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for £31m [$41m].

They also signed Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg for £12.5m [$16m] and goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea, showing a clear plan to strengthen depth across the pitch.

Reportedly, City are still exploring additional signings while keeping a close eye on Barcelona full-back Jules Kounde and PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

But according to some reports, Cityzens are considering one more major attacking addition and that have landed them in Milan.

Manchester City have turned their interest to Portuguese star

The Portuguese international has earned admiration for his acceleration, strength and ability to break defensive lines which has made him a standout in Serie A.

Reportedly, Manchester City are even prepared to offer around €100m [$115m] to convince Milan to part with one of their most valuable players.

While Leao has not publicly requested a move, the chance to work under Guardiola is a powerful attraction.

But it would be hard to convince Milan to part ways with their star but know such an offer will be difficult to reject.

If talks progress, the coming weeks could see City land a signing that instantly transforms their attacking line and signals their intent to return to the very top.
