Manchester United are reportedly revisiting their interest in Parma’s talented goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki.

The 22-year-old Japanese international, valued at approximately €45 million (£37m/46$m), is back on the radar of the Red Devils two years after a potential deal fell through, as per TalkSPORT.

In 2023, Suzuki was close to signing with United while playing for Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan. However, the move fell apart as he didn’t want to serve as a backup to newly-signed Andre Onana.

Instead, Suzuki chose to go on loan to Belgian side Sint-Truiden. Later, he secured a permanent move to Parma for £8.5 million.

Since joining the Serie A club, Suzuki has impressed with his performances, catching the attention of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea.

Last summer, the Blues considered signing him but opted for Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal instead.

Parma’s resolve will be tested as Man Utd rekindle their interest in Zion Suzuki

Parma are keen to retain Suzuki for at least another season, but the lure of a big-money offer might prove hard to resist. His remarkable development in a short span has made him a sought-after prospect.

United’s interest could lead to a bidding war, especially with Chelsea still monitoring his progress.

For Manchester United, Suzuki represents a long-term solution. After missing their chance to sign him for a fraction of his current value, the club seems determined not to let him slip away again.
