Manchester United are finding life quite difficult when it comes to reaching an agreement with Brentford for their star man Bryan Mbeumo.
United sent in an initial bid for the Cameroonian of £55m, but Brentford demanded more money for Mbeumo. Now, even with an improved offer of £62.5m, the London side has rejected United's bid once more.
Rubem Amorim recently had a bid of £62.5m accepted by Wolves for their attacking midfielder Matheus Cunha.
With United desperate to sign Mbeumo, the club must come up with the funds to secure a transfer over the summer.
What are United losing out on if the Mbeumo transfer fails?
United are at risk of losing one of their top transfer targets. Thomas Frank has inserted Tottenham into the race to sign the forward, who played under Frank at Brentford.
Amorim's side would also be losing out on a proven Premier League player, which is a quality Amorim has demanded the club look for in players.
Mbeumo could also be a solution to United's woes up top. The Cameroonian scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season and combined with Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, Mbeumo could be an even bigger threat.
Mbeumo is still eager to join Manchester United, but his current club is proving to be more difficult than Amorim had anticipated.
