Man’s body washes up next to lifeguard tower on popular California beach

Authorities launched an investigation after a homeless man’s body was found washed ashore on a popular Oceanside Beach in San Diego early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report near Lifeguard Tower 1 at approximately 9:04 a.m, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a body described by police as a white male in his 30s.

The official cause of death remains unknown and will be determined following an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office, ABC10 reported.

No further details have been released.
