Manchester City have looked rejuvenated in the Club World Cup, as the English side took the maximum nine points in the group stage. Their final match against Juventus ended in a lopsided scoreline of 5-2 in City's favor.

One player who looked particularly convincing was Jeremy Doku. The winger glided around the pitch, looking like a completely different version of himself. Doku scored the opening goal, making a nice move before slotting the ball into the back of the Juventus goal.

The Belgian winger spoke after the match, delivering his verdict on the footballer that he is.

What did Doku say about his performance and what's to come from him?

Doku attributed some of his performance to the freedom that Pep Guardiola has given him to be himself.

The winger said, "I feel free and enjoying my football, of course. I can still improve on certain aspects but when I play free and with the right mind, with the trust of the coach obviously, then you see a better version of me and now you are seeing a glimpse of it."

Doku arrived from Rennes in 2023 but has been inconsistent over the last two seasons for the club. The Premier League is a different environment, and Doku feels that he's now playing as a better version of himself.

The Belgian international has scored two goals in the Club World Cup, and he'll have the chance to go for more should Man City continue their run after the Round of 16.

Doku also expressed his feelings about the team as a whole, saying, "Obviously it was a good game, we won and we were together from the start to the end and we scored some nice goals. We finished top of the group and we are happy.

I don’t know (if we are back to our best). We just look game by game and this was a good game and we looked a bit more like how we were before, and we will try to produce in every game like this and in every performance."
