Chelsea's winger Cole Palmer has named parting Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in his “Mount Rushmore” of Premier League greats.

In an interview with Sky Sports NZ, Palmer was asked to select four players he considers the most iconic in Premier League history.

He named Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, alongside Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Eden Hazard.

Palmer, who trained and debuted at Manchester City before joining Chelsea in 2023, included his former teammate in recognition of De Bruyne’s consistent excellence and influence during City’s dominance of English football.

De Bruyne remains the only currently active player on Palmer’s list.

Where is Kevin De Bruyne going?

Kevin De Bruyne, who has been Manchester City’s midfield maestro since 2015, will leave the club next month on a free transfer.

Despite speculation linking him to Premier League rivals, The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath confirmed the 33-year-old will move abroad.

There have been numerous offer for the former Belgian star and which include offer from Napoli in Serie A, which are serious, with lifestyle appeal around the Amalfi Coast influencing discussions.

Major League Soccer is another strong option, with the Chicago Fire leading the chase.

City recently honoured De Bruyne with a farewell ceremony, including a lightshow, video montage, and the announcement of a statue outside the Etihad.

The Belgian joins club legends Vincent Kompany, David Silva, and Sergio Agüero to get the same appreciation.
