Are Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song Married? See Their Playful Response

Rory Culkin is protecting his house—erm, throne.

Five months after the 37-year-old and his girlfriend Kate Arizmendi welcomed a baby girl named Havoc Moon, he gave insight into a friendly, lifelong competition he’s had with his older brothers Macaulay Culkin, 46, and Kieran Culkin, 44.

“I was always kind of mad, because I've always been the youngest Culkin—until they started having kids,” Rory told Entertainment Tonight at the Oct. 20 premiere of his new show Nocturne. “But now I have the youngest Culkin, so I reclaim the throne.”

As for if the Home Alone star and Succession alum gave him any advice as a first-time dad? Rory added, “My brothers were sort of just like, ‘You'll figure it out.’”

And the youngest Culkin sibling emphasized he is, in fact, learning how to tackle each phase of parenthood as he goes along.

“This is the first night we're having somebody [else] put her to sleep,” he explained about being at the premiere. “It's the first night I'm not reading her her cozy goodnight story. So, it's a little heartbreaking. But these are good problems to have.” 

For his part, Macaulay also had to figure out the way he wanted to parent his and fiancée Brenda Song’s two sons Dakota, 5, and Carson, 3.

"There's a word that I use in my household, because it's something that I didn't really hear enough of when I was a kid. And that's 'proud,'" he shared on the Mythical Kitchen YouTube series in December. "Man, I'm proud of my kids."

Indeed, Macaulay even made sure to reinforce his pride after one of his sons experienced a bit of stage fright.

“My kid, he does his recital, and the curtain opens, and he's really excited about it — he's gonna play a bug,” he continued, “and as soon as the curtain opens, he freezes and he cries, and he runs off stage."

So, as Macaulay recalled, “I go scoop him up. And the first thing out of my mouth is, 'Man, I'm so proud of you. You were so brave to go out there like that.'"

And that emotion extends to himself, too.

“I’m proud that I can provide for my family in that kind of way,” Macaulay shared, “and that I can love my family the right kind of way."
