The Minnesota Lynx suffered a big blow as Napheesa Collier could miss the entire 2026 WNBA season. Minnesota have been one of the strongest teams in the league for the past few seasons. They reached the Finals in 2024 and the semifinals last season.
Collier played a significant role in their success and her absence is bound to hurt the Lynx once the season begins. On Thursday, Ben Pickman from "The Athletic" reported the Lynx star's status to the community in an article.
Napheesa Collier is set to undergo surgery on both of her ankles, which will put her on the sidelines for four to six months. According to Pickman's sources, the Lynx star will undergo surgery next week.
Collier suffered a ligament tear in her left ankle and a muscle strain in her left shin during Lynx's 84-76 loss to the Phoenix Mercury in Game 3 of the semifinals series. She sprained her right ankle in a 111-58 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Aug. 2.
