Louisville Cardinals Basketball transfer portal tracker live updates, news on commits, departures from the program

The Louisville Cardinals took a second-round exit in the 2026 NCAA Tournament to the Michigan State Spartans. What's clear for Pat Kelsey's team is there will be some newcomers to the program next season.   

Louisville finished the season at 24-11 with seven losses in ACC play. One of the biggest unknowns at this point is who will replace Mikel Brown Jr., who is projected as a top-ten NBA prospect. He was the biggest contributor to Louisville's success, but missed the postseason due to injury. 

Here's where things stand with the Cardinals in the transfer portal. 

According to On3, Louisville was one of the most active teams with several outbound players in the first day of the transfer portal.

• Louisville transfer PF Sananda Fru commits to Marquette, according to On3. 

April 15, 2026 

• Former Arkansas guard Karter Knox has committed to Louisville, according to On3. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

• Louisville transfer forward Khani Rooths has committed to Oklahoma

April 12, 2026

• Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad and Kansas big man Flory Bidunga have both committed to Louisville, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. "A major package deal for the Cardinals, as the Louisville administration was aggressive in laying out a vision for building a championship roster."

Louisville transfer portal rumors:

April 19: Wisconsin transfer John Blackwell is planning to visit Louisville, according to On3's Joe Tipton.  The 6-foot-4 junior averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. 

April 19: 7-foot-5 USC transfer center Gabe Dynes is receiving interest from Louisville, according to On3's Joe Tipton. 

April 18: Louisville guard Adrian Wooley will return next season, according to On3. The 6-foot-4 sophomore averaged 8.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season.

April 17: Louisville has the second-most transfer portal commits, according Field of 68's Jeff Goodman. 

April 16: Iowa transfer Alvaro Folgueiras now 100% locked for Louisville, according to On3. 

April 15: Hofstra’s Cruz Davis has been contacted by Louisville since entering the transfer portal, according to Field of 68's Jeff Goodman. 

April 14: Louisville has fallen out of the race for Saint Mary’s transfer Paulius Murauskas, according to On3's Joe Tipton. 

April 14: St. John snags guard Quinn Ellis, a top-flight prospect from the EuroLeague. The Johnnies got him over Duke, Louisville, Kentucky and more, according to NY Post. 

April 13: Arkansas transfer Karter Knox set to visit Louisville on Tuesday. Knox played two seasons at Arkansas under John Calipari. Louisville was one of his final schools after high school, according to Cardinal Authority's Jody Demling

April 13: The Cardinals are also in a strong position for both John Blackwell and Paulius Murauskas, according to reports. Both players are in contact with Pat Kelsey's staff. 

April 13: Louisville is not done in the portal after snagging two talents in Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad and Kansas big man Flory Bidunga, according to 247Sports' Travis Branham. 

April 13: Saint Mary’s forward Paulius Murauskas predicted to land with Louisville, according to On3's Pete Nakos. "Louisville had the headline of the weekend in the college basketball transfer portal, landing Kansas forward Flory Bidunga and Oregon point guard Jackson Shelstad. Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals are not stopping there. 

"Louisville is expected to add up to eight more players this offseason, and Kelsey has turned his focus to Saint Mary’s forward Paulius Murauskas, a two-time All-WCC selection who averaged 18.4 points and 7.6 rebounds this season."

April 12: SMU transfer Samet Yigitoglu is still linked to Louisville, but likely headed to South Carolina, according to On3. 

April 11: "Louisville is armed with a huge budget for players, and the Cards went out and landed two veterans," according to Field of 68's Jeff Goodman. 

April 11: Notre Dame's Cole Certa was getting interest from Louisville, but committed to Clemson shortly before news for Oregon's Jackson Shelstad commiting to the Cards, according to On3.

April 11: Oregon's Jackson Shelstad and Kansas' Flory Bidunga were tailgating at the Louisville Baseball game on Saturday. The duo were on a visit together. 

April 11: UNC Asheville transfer Kameron Taylor has received interest from Louisville. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 18.9 points this season, earning 1st-Team All-Big South honors, according to On3.

April 10: Louisville will meet this weekend with 6-foot-8 Robert Morris transfer Dasean Goode, according to 247SportsTravisBranham. 

April 10: Oregon transfer guard Jackson Shelstad is projected to Louisville by On3's Pete Nakos.  

"The momentum in the recruitment has now shifted to Louisville, with Shelstad set to visit the Cardinals on Friday. Shelstad averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 12 games this season, hindered due to an injury."

April 9: Louisville is among the programs to monitor for BYU's Rob Wright, according to On3. "The No. 5 overall player in the portal. His list is expected to grow, as many programs are in need of a starting point guard. There is also a chance he could return to BYU, though things remain fluid."

April 9: Portland freshman Joel Foxwell has heard from Louisville, according to Sam Kayser

April 8: San Francisco guard Tyrone Riley IV will visit Louisville on Sunday, per multiple reports. The 6-foot-6 transfer averaged 12.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season, shooting nearly 37% from beyond the arc.

April 7: Kansas center Flory Bidunga is one of the top players in the transfer portal. The Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year will be visiting Louisville with Oregon's Jackson Shelstad, according to On3.
