Los Angeles home miraculously left standing after the 2025 wildfires lists for rent — asking $34K/month

Singer-songwriter, and real estate investor, Betty Moon is listing her home in the Pacific Palisades as a $34,000-a-month rental. The residence, at 344 Arno Way, stands just 1,000 feet from the ocean.

Remarkably, it survived last year’s devastating wildfires even as her neighbors’ homes burned down, including the historic property of Michael Richards, who famously played Kramer on “Seinfeld.”

Richards lost everything, including precious “Seinfeld” memorabilia, such as every script, signed by the core cast, and a valuable rare books collection, according to reports. He’s rebuilding using the original blueprints from 1929 to recreate his property that had been built by developer, oil tycoon and Olympic tennis medalist Alphonzo Bell, who was also the founder of Bel-Air.

“My neighbor Michael Richards must be wondering how my place ended up as one of the only houses still standing,” Moon told Gimme Shelter.

“I drove up to it six weeks after the fire that destroyed the entire Palisades neighborhood. No one was allowed to enter the area,” she added.

When she finally saw her home, still standing, she said: “My partner Jeff and I were completely blown away.”

Built in 1965, the midcentury-modern home features four bedrooms and four baths.

At 4,028 square feet, it comes furnished — but can also be rented unfurnished. Design details include hardwood floors, high ceilings, two fireplaces, a modern chef’s kitchen, plus a dining area with a wine fridge and a wine closet.

There’s also a den, a wraparound-terraced sunken living room and a primary bedroom suite with a spa-like bath featuring a stone tub.

Outside, there’s a pool and a spa, lush landscaping and a fireproof slate roof.

In addition, the backyard boasts an outdoor theater and a gym, along with a terrace featuring a barbeque island for al-fresco dining overlooking the Pacific.

The home’s lower level features a fourth bedroom and a bath that can also also become a home office suite.

In addition, there’s an attached three-car gated garage with an electric charging station, along with a security system and landscape lighting.

The residence is on an exclusive street perched above the Bel Air Bay Club, which may be why it was saved from the January 2025 wildfires.

While Moon’s neighbors’ homes burned to the ground, many, like Richards, are rebuilding.

“Homes built like tanks were burned to the ground,” Moon added. “How was my house still standing? Some people are building the same homes that they had. Another couple across the street is building a modern farmhouse. Everyone has started, and the signs are up with the names of the architects. It’s an exciting time. Everybody is very determined to build a smart city, with lots of solar energy and fiber optic cables underground.”

“It’s all pretty exciting for the future of the smart city we’ve nicknamed PaliBu,” added Moon, who is releasing a new EP, “Strangely Beautiful,” on April 17.

“It brings together many feelings and emotions from the past few years,” Moon said. “What is strangely beautiful about all of this is that everyone is now excited and motivated to start over and rebuild. You see signs everywhere that say ‘Palisades Strong.'”

Nevertheless, Moon felt guilty that her home, “while severely damaged, was not a total loss and could be repaired.”

“Most of the updates involved redoing the interior,” she explained.

Moon is listing the property herself. The rent includes a gardener, and pool and house maintenance; the tenant pays for utility usage.

Moon’s properties include a Los Angeles home on Wyton Drive that was once home to Cary Grant, and a Malibu beach house “magical getaway” that she had previously rented to the late “Friends” star Matthew Perry, as well as to rapper Cardi B and actor Taraji P. Henson.
