This is wheely insane.
Terrifying footage shows a loose tire spinning out of control on a Philadelphia highway before slamming into an oncoming SUV, pulverizing its front end.
The scary scene unfolded at about 12:30 p.m. as a dark gray Nissan was going westbound on the Schuylkill Expressway, NBC10 and WPVI reported.
The car is seen in the dashcam footage cruising in the left lane when the runaway tire lands on the hood and then smashes the windshield.
Another video obtained by NBC10 captured the moments leading up to impact.
The tire can be seen bouncing over the highway median at a high speed seconds before striking the Nissan with tremendous force, crumpling the hood and shattering the windshield.
The source of the loose tire was not immediately known.
It’s also unclear if anyone was injured.
