Charlotte Flair has responded to harsh criticism over her appearance. The Queen had to face a lot of questions over her body when she returned to WWE earlier this year after a surgery.
In the past, the 14-time Women's World Champion has talked about how she had to deal with online criticism over her looks. She even had to address plastic surgery rumors back in July this year.
During an appearance on The Strong New York Podcast, the decorated WWE star was asked about how she deals with the outside noise, especially when it comes to her personal life. Flair said the criticism intensified after her return from injury, and she had to take it in her stride.
"The last two years having my first injury, being out, coming back, and I came back with a lot on my plate, and I had lost a lot of weight due to it, but like no one knew. So, the criticism of, like, 'she's so skinny,' whatever narrative was out there, and then you put on 10 pounds, and then they're like, 'Oh, she's getting bigger. She looks like Charlotte did in 2015'. It's just like if they're not talking, you're doing something wrong," she said.Is Rhea a Bigger Draw Than Brock Lesnar? - Watch Here!
Charlotte Flair then mentioned how some comments cross the limits, but there are moments when fans compliment her as well.
"So it's kind of like a mixed blessing. Like, 'Oh, she looks like a dude; she's too skinny,' or 'She looks plastic.' Like any fan that I've ever met in person, they're like, 'Wow, you're so much prettier in person.'...You have to just take it, what else can you do?" she added. You can watch the interview below:
Flair mentioned that her stern character on WWE TV might make it difficult for people to see her soft side.
Charlotte Flair suffered a big defeat on RAW
This week on RAW, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss put their Women's Tag Team Title on the line against The Kabuki Warriors.
The Queen had the match in control, but Nia Jax and Lash Legend interfered to change the situation. The duo took out Bliss and allowed Asuka and Kairi Sane to take advantage.
This led to The Kabuki Warriors winning the championship from Charlotte Flair and Bliss. After the match, the heels continued to attack the former champions, but IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley made the save.
