With two years left on his current deal, Diaz is now attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest names.
Barcelona are said to be long-time admirers, and Saudi clubs are lurking like a fox near the henhouse, ready to pounce with a hefty offer.
But Liverpool, fresh off a Premier League title and determined not to lose another key player, are keen to keep Diaz in red.

How important is Luis Diaz for Liverpool?
Diaz has played a vital role for the Reds this season. The 28-year-old has scored 12 goals and added five assists in the league alone.
Often used out of position as a central striker, he still found ways to influence games — a jack of all trades in Liverpool’s forward line.
And while his contract, signed in 2022, hasn’t been updated since he joined from Porto, the club is now ready to make moves.
According to reports (via Sky Sports News), Liverpool plan to hold discussions with Diaz’s representatives once the season ends.
Having recently secured extensions for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, and with Trent Alexander-Arnold likely heading to Real Madrid, the Anfield board clearly want to avoid another contract circus.
There’s also a bit of football logic at play. With Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez not quite hitting their stride, Diaz has been the dependable one. Selling him now would be like kicking your last functioning striker boot into the Mersey.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher shared his take:
“For the majority of this season up until Christmas, I was thinking you sell Diaz in the summer… but the way he's played, he's now going to stay.”
