Change could be coming to Liverpool’s attack — and fast. The Reds are now eyeing a new name to lead their line, and it’s not just transfer talk for the sake of headlines.
According to reports (via TEAMtalk), Liverpool are seriously considering a move for Brighton’s Joao Pedro, with club insiders saying the Brazilian is being viewed as a top target.
Pedro, just 23, has had a solid season for Brighton. He’s found the net 10 times and added six assists in the Premier League — not bad for a player still adjusting to the top flight.
His movement, control, and ability to link play make him a good fit for Arne Slot’s system, which is all about flexibility and smart positioning.
And while Pedro’s name might not strike fear into every defense yet, Liverpool believe he has the tools to grow into a top-class forward.
The Seagulls, though, won’t let him fly the nest easily. Brighton reportedly want at least £60 million, and with interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, the price could climb higher than a last-minute Virgil van Dijk header.

Liverpool planning replace Nunez with Joao Pedro
What makes this more than just a rumor is the growing uncertainty around Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan forward has had his moments, but inconsistency has crept in too often.
He’s scored 40 goals since joining in 2022, but also missed enough chances to give fans heartburn. Liverpool are reportedly open to offers — and that’s where Pedro comes in.
Michael Edwards, back in charge of recruitment, has been tracking Pedro since his Watford days.
That long-term scouting suggests this isn’t a panic buy. It’s a plan. Add to that Diogo Jota’s ongoing injury issues, and the need for another forward becomes clear.
Talks could begin as early as next week. If all goes to plan, Pedro might soon be walking alone — into Anfield.
