It has been a topsy turvy start to Liverpool's 2025/26 season as they won the first few games before suffering consecutive defeats in four games across competitions.
Liverpool eventually broke the streak against Eintracht Frankfurt with a resounding 5-1 thumping in the Champions League away fixture.
There were plenty of positives from the game for the Reds as Florian Wirtz secured a couple of assists with Hugo Ekitike, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo were on the scoresheet.
However, one of the biggest concerns in the last game was Slot benching Mohamed Salah, who eventually came on for Ekitike in the 74th minute.
The 33-year-old Egyptian is going through a goal drought, having scored his last goal in Liverpool's 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Since then, he has failed to find the net in six games across competition and therefore Slot was forced to hand him a rest against Frankfurt as fans expect him to start against Brentford in their away trip to London this weekend.

Salah has had several opportunities to end his goal drought against Manchester United and also against Chelsea, but he is lacking that killer instincts this season. These misses have affected his confidence and made things worse for the veteran forward.
He has received a lot of flak for his bizarre misses and questionable decision making in the recent few matches.
Hence, Salah has shockingly removed all references of Liverpool from his social media handles, sparking a new debate around his future at Anfield.
What did Arne Slot say about Mohamed Salah's form?
Liverpool will look to build on their winning momentum as they will travel to London to face Brentford on Saturday, October 25.
The Reds need to bounce back in Premier League as early as possible if they want to close the gap between themselves and leaders Arsenal.
Ahead of their London trip, Slot looked fairly relieved with the Frankfurt win, and the Dutchman isn't much bothered about Salah's dip in form.

"I don’t know if it is sharpness or not, it is so difficult for me to say why this is," Slot told reporters when asked about Salah's form. "I could come up with a few reasons which I am not sure if that is the reason, but I think in general in football players miss chances and Mo is a human being as well.
"We are not used to him missing chances, let alone a few games in a row but these things can happen. What could have to do with it, I have no clue if it does, but I could come up with it easier maybe to finish a chance when you are 3-1 up than if you are 1-0 down.
"But maybe that is completely not true for him. I think the main thing is that Mo has always scored goals for our club and the last thing I worry about is Mo starting to score goals again because that is what he has done his whole life and that is what I expect him to do in the upcoming weeks and months for our club."
Salah is nothing short of a club legend at Anfield and especially after last season's heroics where he scored 34 goals across competitions, people expect him keep up the same form which isn't always possible.
However, a goal in the next few games could completely change the narrative around him as he is desperately looking for some confidence and nothing other than scoring goals will boost his morale.
