ANNAPOLIS, Maryland, Nov. 23 — The No. 13/SN No. 12 DeMatha [Hyattsville, MD] Stags have already beaten the Gonzaga [Washington, DC] Eagles once this year.
On Sunday night, they'll have to do it again.
The Stags and Eagles are meeting in the football championship game of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, and undefeated DeMatha (10-0) is a heavy favorite after beating Gonzaga (7-4), 42-14, back on October 31. They've been the WCAC's top team throughout the 2025 season, and they can wrap up a spot in the Top 10 of the The Sporting News High School Football Top 25 with a win.
But it won't shock anybody that follows the Washington, D.C.-based league if they see a better version of the Eagles Sunday night in a game that will be played at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. EST local kick.
