Little Mix Announces Break After 2022 Tour
This is a shoutout to Jesy Nelson.
The Little Mix alum—who left the group in 2020 after nine years with bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock—is expecting twins with Zion Foster, she announced on Instagram Jan. 12.
Alongside a polaroid picture of Foster cradling her baby bump, Nelson cheekily captioned the post, "She’s eating for 3 now."
This pregnancy announcement comes three years after the "Boyz" singer and the musician first sparked romance rumors. And, despite any breakup speculation over the years, it appears the duo is ready to take on this new chapter together.
Nelson, 33, rose to fame in 2011 while appearing on UK's The X Factor, during which she became a member of Little Mix. After enjoying much success together, the band confirmed in Nov. 2020 that Nelson was taking an extended hiatus from Little Mix for "private medical reasons."
The following month, Nelson announced her decision to permanently leave the group.
"We love her very much," the trio wrote on Instagram at the time, "and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being."
In recent years, Thirlwall, Pinnock and Edwards have also taken a "break from Little Mix" and have been exploring new chapters in their professional and personal lives. In fact, Pinnock and Edwards became moms, days apart, in Aug. 2021, with Edwards welcoming son Axel with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Pinnock giving birth to twin baby girls with Andre Gray
"The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health," the London native continued. "I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard. There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process."
It was a decision that her three bandmates supported.
