It's that point in the offseason when teams are checking in on possible depth additions.
That's what the Detroit Lions are doing. They will have running back Jabari Small in for a workout on Friday, according to Aaron Wilson.
Small played at the University of Tennessee and has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans.
He's got a great football pedigree. His dad played at Ole Miss, and both his uncles were All-SEC receivers, at Georgia and Florida.
Small played four seasons for the Vols. His best campaign was as a junior in 2022, when he ran for 734 yards and 13 touchdowns.
In total, he averaged 5.1 yards per carry in his college career and also caught 32 passes.

Small signed as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in May 2024. He spent time on the practice squad and the active roster.
Tennessee waived Small in May, and he's looking for his next NFL home.
The Lions have a strong top of the RB depth chart, but if Small shows special teams ability in addition to providing running back depth, he'd have the chance to earn a contract.
