The Detroit Lions released their first (estimated) injury report of the week ahead of their playoff matchup against the Washington Commanders on Saturday and it had both good and bad news.
First, the bad news: starting guard Kevin Zeitler was listed as a non-participant to start the week. Zeitler is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
It's still early in the week, so Zeitler has time to get right before kickoff on Saturday. If he can't go, Detroit will likely deploy rookie guard Christian Mahogany in his spot. Mahogany played well in his lone start of 2024.
The other bit of bad news comes from the status of rookie Ennis Rakestraw Jr., who is working his way back from a hamstring injury suffered earlier in the season.
Like Zeitler, Rakestraw, who was designated to return from injured reserve last week, was an estimated non-participant. However, he was also listed with an illness, so that might be behind his lack of participation.
Now, for some good news: both running back David Montgomery and rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold were both estimated full participants.
The expectation has been that Montgomery would return for the divisional round, and he's clearly on track to do just that. Arnold injured his foot in the regular season finale but has expressed optimism that he would play.
Now, a look at the full injury report for both teams.
