Heading into the NFL's Week 4 games, the Lions look strong, despite some issues. Head coach Dan Campbell has figured out a way to get wins, even when things aren't going this team's way. That's a valuable skill in the world of the NFL. In particular, one aspect of this team stands out.
The Detroit Lions are still winning despite issues
On Wednesday, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today released a feature grading each NFL team. In it, he gives the Lions a B grade. In the piece, he notes that the Lions' biggest problem is the secondary and defense, which makes sense. But they've been able to come out on top regardless.
"Close calls against the Saints and Jets reinforced that nothing might come easy to Detroit this season," he states in the piece. "That much should have been clear, however, when the team entered the season with a secondary that looked liable to subject the Lions to repeated shootouts."
He also points out that slow starts are hurting this team, but they've still been able to pull off wins. "For now, though, Dan Campbell is getting enough big plays on both sides of the ball to finish off some uncomfortable contests," he adds.
So, the Lions aren't performing to the best of their abilities so far. But what matters most is that they're winning, and that's what needs to keep happening in Detroit. They have the talent. Now, it's about executing it.
