The Detroit Lions have made their stance clear on Alex Anzalone.
"Pay the man!" they chanted at training camp on Monday.
Is that in the Lions' plans, though? That's not so sure.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that there is "no momentum" toward a potential contract extension for Anzalone.
Anzalone is in the final year of a three-year deal, with him due to earn $6 million in 2025.
He's going to turn 31 in September, so he's not necessarily an ideal extension candidate.

Anzalone is still a standpoint player when he's on the field. He had 63 tackles in 10 games last season, and in 2022-23 combined, he had 254 tackles.
Anzalone is entering his fifth season with the Lions after his first four NFL campaigns were spent with the Saints.
What comes next remains to be seen, though. Lions fans want to keep him. But does the front office?
