The Detroit Lions have mastered the draft under general manager Brad Holmes. One of the franchise's recent draft picks who has developed into a superstar is wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
St. Brown was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and is now one of the best receivers in football. The 25-year-old has been a first-team All-Pro selection in two consecutive seasons and has posted three straight campaigns with over 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards.
The Lions' selection of St. Brown topped Bleacher Report's Damian Parson's list of the biggest steals of the 2021 draft.
"St. Brown is one of the best pound-for-pound wide receivers in the league. He has outplayed his draft position and brought immediate reliability and consistency to the Lions' passing attack. St. Brown’s career has been outstanding, and he isn’t slowing down anytime soon," Parson wrote.
Since entering the league in 2021, St. Brown is tied for the most receptions (430) with Tyreek Hill and also ranks in the top ten in receiving yards and touchdowns. The USC product is on a Hall of Fame trajectory and is the most productive Lions pass catcher since Calvin Johnson.
Though they lost Ben Johnson this offseason, St. Brown and Detroit's offense should return as one of the league's most potent units under new offensive coordinator John Morton. The unit led the NFL in points per game last year with 33.2.
