Yeah, he’s single, but for more than the night. Lil Wayne posted a video to his Instagram on Sunday (July 5) clarifying that he’s no longer in a relationship with Madi Cannon and squashing rumors that the former couple was engaged.

“I would like to clear something up: No, I’m not engaged. I had a beautiful thing going with an amazing person, but obviously due to the validity of the temperature of today’s world and culture, I considered [that] I don’t want to be such a burden on such an amazing person,” he said. “So we decided to part. Sucks.”

Wayne, 43, appeared to begin dating Cannon earlier this year. There was speculation he got engaged to the 23-year-old influencer in May.

Cannon posted a selfie to her IG Story with Wayne last week, and she was also seen in a photo alongside Weezy and Skip Bayless, which was posted by the sports commentator to X on June 29.

Elsewhere in the video, which found Wayne having a jam session with his guitar, he explained the reason for his absence from the Maine show kicking off his tour June 30 was due to his epilepsy.

“I have epilepsy, I have seizures, right? Thank God I haven’t had a seizure in years, but seizures have triggers. A trigger to my seizures is bad migraines,” he shared. “I had a f–king migraine that night. It was recommended I don’t get in the air.”

Wayne has a history of having seizures connected to epilepsy. He was rushed to a Chicago hospital in 2017 after suffering a seizure. And in June 2016, a private plane was forced to make an emergency landing as Wayne was having multiple seizures on the flight from Milwaukee to California.

Weezy opened up about being epileptic during an interview with Power 106 in 2013. “The bad news is I’m an epileptic, I’m prone to seizures. Like, this isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure,” he explained at the time. “I’ve had a bunch of seizures, y’all just never hear about them.”

The New Orleans rap legend apologized for missing the June 30 Maine show, but was a guest at Michael Rubin’s White Party in Southhampton, N.Y., a day later on July 1, where he reportedly performed.

Lil Wayne got back on the road and returned to the stage on tour with a show on July 2 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and then headed to New Hampshire on July 3. However, reports emerged that Wayne took the stage at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, N.H., two hours later than he was originally supposed to.

Billboard has reached out to reps for Wayne.

The trek will take a break for a couple of weeks before resuming in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 16.
