Time Magazine recently courted controversy for the cover of its upcoming November 10 issue featuring US President Donald Trump. On October 13, 2025, the magazine released the cover on X, which focused on the president's help in brokering the Gaza ceasefire deal. However, several Republicans, including the president, took offense at the photo used on the cover, which featured a low-angle shot of the president with the sun blurring the top of his hair to create a halo effect.

Many deemed the picture unflattering, with TikToker Link Lauren accusing Time Magazine of intentionally using a bad photo of the president to portray him as an alleged "evil, fascist dictator." On October 14, 2025, Lauren appeared on Fox News' Will Cain Country to address the situation.

In the interview, he claimed that several publications "go out of their way" to choose unflattering pictures of Republicans to portray them in a bad light. He further added that he had the "privilege" of meeting the president in person and described him as a "fit," "tall," "skinny," and "handsome" man who "looks great in person.

"They go out of their way to choose the worst pictures of Republicans and conservatives... Then they edit, and they ratchet up the saturation to make you look as bad as possible...And I've had the immense privilege of covering the president," he said.

Lauren continued:

"I've traveled with him...He looks great in person. President Trump is fit. He's tall, he's skinny, his skin looks good, his hair looks good. You have to go out of your way to make him look bad. The guy is handsome. Let's be honest, the guy is handsome. But they make him look like this evil, fascist dictator because that's what they've called him for 10 years."

Trump lambasted Time Magazine for the unflattering cover photo

Shortly after Time Magazine unveiled its cover photo for its upcoming November 10 issue, US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to lambast the publication for the unflattering photo, describing it as "the Worst of All Time."

He accused the publication of "disappearing" his hair, adding that the "super bad picture" deserved to be called out despite the publication writing a "relatively good story about him."

"Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time. They 'disappeared' my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird! I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out. What are they doing, and why?" he questioned.

Donald Trump says his TIME Magazine cover may be the “worst picture of all time”:“They “disappeared” my hair… I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture, and deserves to be called out.”

The cover in question featured three titles: "His Triumph," "The Leader Israel Needed," and "How Gaza Heals." In the X post unveiling its cover, the publication had added a link to an article titled "How the Trump Administration Sealed the Gaza Ceasefire Deal."

The article detailed how the president enlisted Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner (his son-in-law) to frame an accord "to quiet one of the world's most destabilizing conflicts." The publication also speculated that the ceasefire deal could become "a signature achievement of Trump's second term" as the President of the United States.

Trump has a long history with Time Magazine. He was made Time's Person of the Year in 2016 and 2024, both times after winning the presidential election that year.
