LeBron to Mavs, Warriors, Cavs, Clippers? Duke great Cooper Flagg, Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard on table as teammates if Lakers, James part ways

LeBron James is reportedly on the outs with the Los Angeles Lakers, having not been notified of the franchise’s recent sale to a new ownership group.

Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson reports that if “the King” and the Lakers find a trade or buyout, the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Clippers are on the table as potential landing spots.

That’d mean teaming up with Duke Blue Devils product Cooper Flagg, and two former teammates he won a championship with, Kyrie Irving (2016, Cleveland) and Anthony Davis (2020, Los Angeles), on the Mavs is a possibility.

As is teaming up with his former arch-nemeses year in and year out in the Finals from 2015-2018, Steph Curry and Draymond Green, in the Bay.

A homecoming with the Cavs alongside the young core the team built in his absence is intriguing, while spiting the Lakers by going across town to the Clippers would be an all-time petty move.

The Athletic’s Jovan Buha reported unrest between James and L.A.’s brain trust.

“I mean, I want to be careful with what I say about Bron’s relationship with the front office or the organization, but I don’t think it’s in the best place right now, to be completely honest,” Buha said.

Landing Luka Doncic in February may lead the Lakers to ditch their last Finals MVP this offseason.

It’d be a unique twist of fate for Doncic’s arrival to cause Flagg and James to call Dallas home.
