The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James seem to be on their way to a breakup. Whether it happens this season (LeBron just opted-in to a $50+ million contract with the Lakers) or next season, it looks like the end is near. That’s why LeBron trade rumors have ignited.
One LeBron trade idea was presented by Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report. He created “3 Trade Packages To Bring LeBron James Home to Cleveland Cavaliers,” and one is quite interesting.
“Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: F LeBron James, G Bronny James, and save $24.1 million
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: PG Darius Garland, F De'Andre Hunter, G/F Max Strus
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Jarred Vanderbilt, PG Gabe Vincent, 2031 first-round pick (via Los Angeles Lakers)
This is as simple as a LeBron James trade could get for the Cavs and Lakers, with the Nets and their cap space brought in as a third team.
The Cavs get both LeBron and Bronny James, with the latter attractive to Cleveland given his affordable $1.9 million salary. That's less than paying a veteran minimum contract to a player with even one year of service.”
Is this a realistic LeBron trade package? The Cavaliers might entertain it. Not only would they be bringing back a franchise legend, but LeBron may fit their roster more than Garland anyway.
For the Lakers, this would be a super haul for LeBron and Bronny. Garland is already a 2-time All-Star and is still young. His lack of size wouldn’t be an issue next to Luka Doncic in the Lakers backcourt.

They’d also get two super solid role players in Strus and Hunter. If the Cavaliers are down, and Brooklyn is willing to take some extra money for a first-round pick, the Lakers need to try and make this trade ASAP.
