The Los Angeles Lakers are heading into the Playoffs like how they did in previous years, and that is with LeBron James as the star player. Most people expect that because he is arguably the greatest player of all time.
However, he has not been the Lakers' best player this season. He might not even be the second-best. With Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves out with injuries, James has to step up once again and be the main man for head coach JJ Redick.
JJ Redick knows LeBron James is ready to be the main man again
For the longest time, LeBron James has been the superstar to carry his teams to the promised land. Whether it was the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, or the Lakers, he was always the cornerstone of his teams.
That changed this season because of LeBron's age, but also Doncic's ascent to true superstardom. While the Slovenian star does not have an MVP yet, he is widely considered one of the league's best players.

Unfortunately, Redick and the Lakers have to shift their game plan without Doncic and Reaves, who is arguably the Lakers' second-best player. Now, James is left as the sole star, and he is ready to go back to his old ways.
"We're gonna need him to facilitate, we're gonna need him to score, we're gonna need him to defend and rebound. He recognizes the task at hand, and he's very locked in; he's played great in all three games," Redick said about James serving as the Lakers' go-to guy again.
The Lakers have some time to rest ahead of the Playoffs, as they will be watching the Play-In Tournament. This will be valuable rest for LeBron because he is one of the greatest players ever, but he is also battling Father Time right now.
