LeBron James is speaking out amid talk of his helicopter commute to Philadelphia.
The NBA superstar is about 24 hours away from his 76ers debut and is now addressing his use of a helicopter to fly from practice in Philly to New York, where he now lives after joining the 76ers. In a clip shared by ESPN reporter Kris Rhim, who asked how teammates and fans "get a kick out og him" using a helicopter to get to practice. James gave a short answer on using the helicopter: “I’ve done it before, just another mode of transportation."
“That’s all,” James added.

— Kris Rhim (@krisrhim1) October 17, 2026Earlier this month, a spokesperson for James told Front Office Sports shared the logistics of getting the NBA star to and from practice via helicopter, which chops down a would-be 2-hour drive to about 40 minutes.
“The deal we signed with Fanatics almost three years ago includes access to their corporate aviation,” a spokesperson said earlier this month. “It’s a feature in many of their deals with their largest athletes, and we appreciate their partnership as LeBron splits his time between New York and Philadelphia.”
James lands on a pad atop the Sixers’ business offices, which is next to where he and his teammates have practices. While James is the only known player on the current 76ers roster to use a helicopter to get to practice, according to ESPN, the Sixers’ managing partner and primary owner Josh Harris also commutes to the offices via helicopter.
The four-time NBA champion left the Lakers after eight years to join the 76ers in July. He signed a two-year contract with the franchise, which will make it his fourth NBA team home. He shared why he chose to go to the 76ers in a post on X in July, writing, "I'm not going for money. I'm not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship."
The 76ers will face the New York Knicks on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
