The Dallas Cowboys have arrived in Oxnard, California for training camp this week. Micah Parsons will be right there along with them.
The defensive end is awaiting a long-term contract extension with the team. It was rumored that Parsons could hold out of training camp as a negotiation tactic. CeeDee Lamb did it last year and eventually got his payday from Jerry Jones.
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz refuted those rumors after reporting that Parsons will participate in training camp despite the contract situation.
It's good news for the Cowboys to have their best defensive player and a team leader there from the start.
Jerry Jones waited until just weeks before the start of last season to resign CeeDee Lamb. He waited until the morning of the first game to sign Dak Prescott. There's a good chance he could wait just as long to ink Parsons to a long-term extension.
— DLLS Cowboys (@DLLS_Cowboys) July 17, 2025The good news for Parsons? Steelers' edge rusher T.J. Watt just signed a three-year, $123 million extension that makes him the highest annually paid non-QB in NFL history at $41 million a year.
That contract resets the market for Parsons. The three-time All-Pro will likely see a deal of same or more value.
But for now, Dallas will have one of its best players at training camp to the lead the charge.
