Are we living in the Age of Revelation already? Because Marvel just keeps the reveals of the creative teams coming! After yesterday’s announcements, the next lineup of creators is here. Joe Kelly, Saladin Ahmad, Tony Fleecs, and more have joined the likes of creators like Jonathan Hickman, Al Ewing, and Gail Simone. Like yesterday’s announcements, this next group sheds more light on the world to come in Age of Revelation while leaving surprises.
Finally we get an explanation of what takes place in books with intriguing titles like The Last Wolverine and Radioactive Spider-Man. Even more exciting for fans is that these titles will be handled by the mainline Wolverine and Spider-Man writers Saladin Ahmed and Joe Kelly. While the regular Spider-Man book probably won’t go way during the event, seeing Kelly onboard cements how big this event will be for the X-Books. Past dystopian stories like Days of Future Past hinted at a Marvel Universe utterly devastated with heroes killed or in hiding. Age of Revelation looks to really dig into this dystopia. The most recent X-Men crossovers haven’t quite lived up to their big premises, but this one looks to deliver on what it promises.
Additionally we get more peeks into the wider world of Age of Revelation. The mutant capital of the world is Philadelphia? Quentin Quire heads up Revelation’s secret police? Wendigo gets to be wonderful? A ghost haunts Philadelphia? Okay after The Sixth Sense that’s not too surprising. Maybe Bruce Willis will appear in this crossover? Disney owns that movie, so it’s entirely possible (it probably won’t happen). The more reveals though, the stranger this world sounds. It’s been a long time since Marvel creators have let loose on an event like this. We’ll find out more when this event debuts in October.
