Larsa Pippen blamed her and Pistons guard Malik Beasley’s past fling on having “COVID brain.”
During a recent interview on “The Jason Lee Show,” the “Real Housewives of Miami” star, who is the ex-wife of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, explained that it “was a mistake” getting involved with Beasley in the first place.
“I had just met him that day,” Pippen said, referring to being photographed holding hands with Beasley at a mall in Miami on Nov. 23, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“That was a mistake, but I had COVID. I had COVID brain… I was stuck in my house. I hadn’t gone anywhere. He was there, he was on me like, ‘Let me come see you,’ and I thought, ‘OK, come see me.’
Pippen, 50, added that she should have listened to host Jason Lee, who warned her against dating Beasley at the time.
Lee also mentioned how Beasley and Pippen’s son, Scotty Jr., were Lakers teammates in 2023.
“They had a conversation when they were on the same team, and it was fine,” Pippen said. “It wasn’t like we had a really bad breakup or anything.
“But at the same time, who am I supposed to date? The landscaper?”
Pippen, who’s currently dating former pro basketball player Jeff Coby, and Beasley called it quits after four months.
She dated Marcus Jordan, the youngest son of NBA icon Michael Jordan, on and off from 2022 before they split in early 2024.
Beasley is in a relationship with Instagram model Natalia Garibotto.
“You know what it is, I feel like guys like me,” she said. “Is that weird?… I’m fun, good energy, [and] I don’t need s–t from anybody. I think that’s appealing to a lot of guys… I just feel like I never have a shortage of guys.”
Pippen and Coby confirmed their relationship days before their first red carpet appearance together at the premiere of “The Accountant 2” in Los Angeles on April 16.
Coby recently said he plans to marry Pippen in November.
He last played for Basket Racing Club Luxembourg of the Total League in 2019.
The former 6-foot-8 small forward out of Columbia went undrafted to the NBA in 2017.
He played pro in Spain before short stints with the Westchester Knicks and the Austin Spurs, the G-League affiliate teams of the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.
