Landry Kiffin was quick to make light of LSU’s disappointing result on Saturday.
LSU coach Lane Kiffin’s daughter attended the heated matchup between the two schools on Saturday night in Oxford, marking her father’s first time back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium since leaving Ole Miss after six years in November before the College Football Playoff.
The Rebels defended their home turf, sealing a 32-24 revenge win.
By Sunday morning, Landry — who is a student at Ole Miss and the girlfriend of LSU linebacker Whit Weeks — quipped, “well at least the outfit was good,” in an Instagram post.
The 21-year-old stunned in a yellow Prada dress and matching yellow heels from the designer, along with black sunglasses, to support the Tigers on her school’s home turf.
Former LSU gymnast and girlfriend of Paul Skenes, Livvy Dunne, chimed in, commenting “the fit won” on Kiffin’s post.
Kiffin also included several photos of herself getting ready for the big game, wearing curlers in her hair and eating some pregame bites with dating app partner “Bumble.”
While much of the game focused on Lane’s return, the spotlight also fell on the coach’s family.
Ahead of the game, Kiffin received vulgar messages and taunts ahead of Saturday’s game.
The founder of clothing line “Fifth Year” posted a TikTok video earlier last week, sharing she was sent photos of banners with “inappropriate” messages about her and someone she had never met that were hung on houses around Oxford.
“I opened my phone this morning to pictures of banners on houses around Oxford posted on different accounts saying really inappropriate things about me and with somebody that genuinely I have never met in my life which makes it even more frustrating to say the least,” Landry said. “I think that turning a girl into the punch line of a sexual joke because you’re upset at somebody someone she’s related to should not be OK. I understand emotional are high this week and people are upset but I am my own person.”
Kiffin did not name the person she was linked to on the banner.
In leaving LSU, Lane brought six assistant coaches with him and several players after agreeing to a seven-year contract that will pay him $13 million annually.
Yet he did not get the last laugh on Saturday after LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt threw an interception on fourth down at Mississippi’s sixth-yard line as they trailed by a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie the game.
The heartbreaking play had Lane fall to his knees.
LSU (2-1) moves on to host Texas A&M on Sept. 26, while Ole Miss (3-0) will travel to Florida.
