Lakers shockingly predicted to acquire Heat's $146 million star in 4-team trade with 76ers, Raptors

Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Jimmy Butler is looking for a new home. While a reunion is unlikely, the 76ers could help facilitate a Butler trade and use it as an opportunity to improve the overall makeup of their roster.

Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice proposed the following four-team trade between the 76ers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Toronto Raptors:

Lakers receive: Butler, Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon

Heat receive: Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Christian Wood, Lakers' 2025, 2027 and 2030 second-round picks

Raptors receive: Jarred Vanderbilt, Reggie Jackson

Sixers receive: Davion Mitchell, Jalen Hood-Schifino

Aaronson notes that the Sixers would eliminate the possibility of Drummond and Gordon picking up player options for next season worth a combined $8.5 million and add two young players to their mix, as he believes Mitchell could make a huge difference in Philly.

"Mitchell, an absolute hound on the defensive end still in search of offensive consistency, would have a two-month trial run as the Sixers' backup point guard before becoming a restricted free agent over the summer. If he impresses in an extended audition, he is the exact type of bulldog that Philadelphia fans would embrace," Aaronson wrote.

Mitchell would give the 76ers a nice option to mix and match with Tyrese Maxey. The latter is an explosive scorer and can create his shot at any given moment, and Mitchell is a lockdown point-of-attack defender who can handle the responsibilities of limiting elite guards across the league.

With Philadelphia being among the worst defensive teams in the league, it could use an injection of defense to change its fortunes on that side of the floor.
