The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James might be on their way to a trade. While it seems that LeBron might play out his contract in LA, he has indicated that he is no longer committed to the franchise. This has spurred LeBron trade rumors from everywhere.
One team that could be interested in finally landing LeBron is the New York Knicks. They’ve shown interest in getting the biggest names on the trade market, and there is no bigger name than James.
Mark Morales-Smith of Sports Illustrated recently proposed a potential LeBron-Knicks trade that could completely change the league.
“Knicks Receive: LeBron James, Bronny James
Lakers Receive: Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, First-Round Pick
The Lakers need to pick a lane and come up with a defined game plan. Having one foot in and one foot out has not worked out. If that decision is to move on from James and build a long-term team around Doncic, then Hart and Anunoby are nice complementary pieces, and of course, they would also be getting a first-round pick.
Anunoby is a solid forward who could potentially go out and give you 20-5-3 for a season, while Hart is the best rebounding guard in the league who contributes on both sides of the ball. He's a tough defender who also has the ability to explode any given night and pour in buckets.”
For the Lakers, this LeBron trade proposal is an absolute no-brainer. Not only are they switching out an aging superstar for two elite role players, but they’re picking up a first-round pick as well.

OG and Hart would be the perfect complements to the new Lakers roster. Building a team around Luka Doncic means the Lakers want shooting, defense, and grit. This is what OG and Hart are all about. Just because of his defense, OG is probably a more valuable player than LeBron as is. Adding Hart and a pick just sweetens this deal into something the Lakers could never reject.
