Lakers' Luka Doncic gets good news on groin injury

The new-look Los Angeles Lakers struggled to get over the three-point shooting of the Golden State Warriors in their 119-109 loss to them on opening night.

Despite the loss, Lakers superstar Luka Doncic put on a show at Crypto.com Arena, finishing the game with 43 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and a block while shooting 17-for-27 from the field.

However, it appeared that Doncic was shaken up at the end of the game. He was seen grabbing his lower body in the final quarter.

Luka Doncic practices in full on Thursday after injury scare

Doncic, 25, carried a heavy workload in the first game of the season on Tuesday, while LeBron James watched from the sideline as he recovers from the sciatica injury he sustained during an on-court workout during the offseason.

This called for Doncic to play 41 minutes of the first game of the regular season, and it took a toll on his body.

However, Doncic doesn't appear to be battling a major injury. He was seen at practice on Wednesday, while participating in a full-capacity on Thursday.

This is positive news for the Lakers while they continue to work through adjusting a lineup with multiple new faces. Players who are coming into their first season with the team include Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, and Jake LaRavia.

Los Angeles will host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday as they look to pick up their first win of the season.
