Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal threatens former Heisman over Angel Reese comments

Shaquille O'Neal has developed a close bond with Angel Reese over the years due to their mutual connection to the LSU Tigers. The Los Angeles Lakers legend joined her mother in escorting her to the court for her senior day ceremony last year.

Reese has even gone as far as labeling the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer a father figure. Meanwhile, O'Neal claimed that the Chicago Sky forward is probably the greatest athlete -- male or female -- to play at LSU.

It should come as no surprise that O'Neal took issue with Robert Griffin III's recent comments about Reese. He recently appeared on the "Off The Record" podcast, where he threatened the former Heisman Trophy winner.

"RGIII, tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I'm going to punch you in your (expletive) face," Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal stated. "It's enough. I don't usually do stuff like this, but just stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast, leave my Angel Reese alone. I'm the one calling her and telling her not to respond. (Expletive) stop it. That's the last time."

"He hates her, so (expletive) what?," O'Neal added. "I hate you now for messing with her. Now what? Say something about me. She's not going to respond... You don't even have G14 classification to say that. I'd respect it more if Lisa Leslie said it... Don't pick on that little girl because guess what? I'm her protector. Now pick on me. You pick on me, I'm going to punch you in your (expletive) face."

Griffin III made headlines after resharing a post that portrayed Reese as a monkey. He later claimed that he has been told the WNBA star hates Caitlin Clark.

Reese's only time addressing his claims was labeling it as a lie, while revealing that he hasn't spoken to anyone in her camp. She did, however, retweet a video of O'Neal's comments defending her.
