Lakers' LeBron James sends seven-word message to Jaylen Brown after viral Bronny James diss

5 hours ago 2

Bronny James was the center of attention during the 2024 Summer League, but not for positive reasons.

The 21–year-old Los Angeles Lakers guard was selected by the 17-time NBA champions with the No. 55 overall pick despite an underwhelming freshman season at USC.

As a result, many believed that James wasn’t a legitimate NBA player or a professional player in general. Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown was one of those individuals, as he was caught on camera stating that he didn't believe James was a pro

Nearly two years later, James’ father, LeBron, responded to Brown’s viral remarks with an eight-word message regarding his current relationship with the former lottery pick.

“Other than that (Brown’s comments about Bronny during Summer League), we’ve been all right,” James said after the Lakers’ 111-89 Sunday night loss to the Celtics.

It appears that James’ relationship with Brown was solid in late February. Will the two standout forwards ever become best buddies off the court? It’s unlikely, considering James won’t find it easy to befriend someone who blatantly disrespected his son (even though his statement has aged well).

However, there’s no reason to believe the two can’t remain cordial moving forward and respect each other’s masterful contributions on the hardwood. James is averaging 21.7 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, while Brown is averaging 29.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per contest this season.

Judging by James’ latest comments about Brown, there’s no bad blood between the two future Hall of Famers.
