Multiple teams around the NBA have to make a decision over the next couple of days on what they want to do with their final roster spot. Some teams have more than 15 players, including the Los Angeles Lakers, who find themselves in one of the more interesting positions.

As for what Los Angeles wants to do on both ends of the floor, it's clear there were some changes this offseason, with a focus on getting more athletic and playing better defense.

We could also argue the Lakers are better than they were a season ago, despite losing LeBron James. A lot of that will come down to the non-superstars on the roster, like Luka Doncic.

A few seasons ago, there was a lot of hope that the Lakers found something in Dalton Knecht.

To say that the first couple of years in Los Angeles have been somewhat disappointing would be an understatement, as there's now even an assumption that Knecht might be the player under the most pressure to make the roster when Los Angeles makes that decision.

“The first comes on October 19, when NBA teams must set their opening-night rosters by 5 p.m. ET. Los Angeles currently has 16 players on standard guaranteed contracts but can carry a maximum of 15, meaning at least one player must be traded or waived. Knecht appears to be the player under the most pressure,” Basketnews wrote.

I would hate to give up on a somewhat younger player like Knecht, but he isn't exactly a 21-year-old who has a boatload of potential.

The Tennessee product was drafted somewhat late, and he's already 25.

While I still think there could be something in there as a three-point shooter, that's ultimately something the Lakers and JJ Redick are going to have to decide on.
