It's now been two difficult seasons for Kylian Mbappe in terms of team success at Real Madrid, but he has been unmatched in La Liga on a personal level when it comes to scoring goals.
The 27-year-old has finished top of the league's goalscoring chart after each of his two seasons in the Spanish capital, creating a divide between collective silverware and individual achievement.
Mbappe is the overwhelming favorite to finish atop the charts for a third consecutive campaign, especially now that Madrid have bolstered their attack even further by spending big on Yan Diomande.
He will be challenged by Clasico foes Barcelona, who are hoping that Lamine Yamal and Raphinha will be boosted by big-money additions in Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
The Sporting News is tracking the Golden Boot race in La Liga all season long, right until the final matchday on May 30.

As two-time defending champion, Kylian Mbappe is the clear runaway favorite to win the Pichichi trophy in the 2026/27 La Liga season.
Nobody else is even close to Mbappe, who sports negative odds to begin the campaign at 4/7 to lead the league in goal scoring.
The next two individuals on the list are both from Barcelona, as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are both considered the likely challengers, but those two often create for others as much as scoring themselves, so it's hard to see them challenging a world-class scorer like Mbappe.

Who won La Liga Golden Boot 2025/26?
For the second straight year, Kylian Mbappe won the Pichichi trophy as the top goal scorer in La Liga.
The Real Madrid star topped the charts by two over Verdat Muriqi of Mallorca, even though he missed some time through the second half of the season due to injury.
Mbappe gave himself enough of a lead with a scorching hot first-half, finding the back of the net in 18 of his first 22 appearances in La Liga action.
