Season 7 of "The Chi" has officially arrived.
The popular series features a star-studded cast that includes the likes of La La Anthony, Lynn Whitfield and more, and hones in on the dangerous activities of the South Side of Chicago. The coming-of-age series focuses on a series of young individuals living in the area, each with their own hopes, dreams and struggles. Created by Lena Waithe, the show first made its debut in January 2018, and currently holds an 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. As far as season 7 goes, the synopsis describes it as "the women of the series asserting their dominance, and refusing to relinquish their power once it's been achieved."
And as for Anthony, she portrays Dominque "Dom" Morris, a recurring character who made her debut in season 3. Throughout the seasons, Dom transitions from a home chef to business owner, establishing an eatery known as Smokey's BBQ with a partner, and along the way there's plenty of drama and messiness in-between. Ahead of the premiere, the actress took to Instagram to post about the new season.

"Dom is back!!! Blood is thicker than water. @ShoTheChi season 7 is now streaming on #ParamountPlus with SHOWTIME plan. #TheChi," she wrote excitedly, with fans chiming in: "Oh yeahhhh! I can’t wait for this season!, and "love this!"
Season 7 begins with the episode "Black Friday," which premieres via Showtime on May 16. Weekly episode drops will continue through June 29.
