Kylian Mbappe returns to his favorite stage this summer, with France once again among the leading contenders for glory at the 2026 World Cup.
Mbappe has scored an incredible 86 goals in 103 appearances across his first two seasons with Real Madrid. However, a lack of a La Liga or Champions League titles at the same time as his former club Paris Saint-Germain have become Europe's dominant force makes club football a complicated picture for the 27-year-old at present.
His previous two outings at the World Cup have been indisputably stellar, though. Mbappe became the first teenager since Pele to score in a World Cup final as Les Bleus beat Croatia 4-2 to win their second title in 2018.
Four years later, they suffered penalty shootout heartbreak against Lionel Messi and Argentina in the showpiece match, but not before Mbappe became the second man in history and first since England's Geoff Hurst in 1966 to score a hat-trick in the final. He finished as the tournament's top scorer with eight goals, one ahead of Messi.
In North America, Mbappe will want to reassert his credentials as one of the best players on the planet and all of France's matches will be appointment viewing.
Here is everything you need to know about Mbappe's World Cup, including the latest results from the tournament.
