Kyle Singler pleads for help from Duke, Coach K in latest concerning social media video

Former Duke star Kyle Singler has faced troubling issues since retiring from professional basketball, and that only continued with a disturbing series of videos on Tuesday night.

Singler posted three videos on Instagram pleading for help from former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke community, as he is concerned for his life and finances. This marks the third time since 2024 that Singler, who was arrested last year, has posted a concerning set of videos on social media.

Singler claims that he's been turned down by people in his life, so he hopes that the videos can make a difference. Here's why the former Duke star is asking for help.

Kyle Singler pleads for help from Duke, Coach K

On Tuesday night, Singler posted three videos on social media pleading for help, especially from former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, who coached Singler in college from 2007 to 2011. Singler claims that he is at risk of being homeless and needs someone to help get him back on the right track.

"Man, Coach K has set me up," Singler said."Set me up, man. I have no power. I have no house. I've reached out to coach and everybody has turned the other way. I've reached out to coach and he has fully dismissed the message. You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life. I reached out to Coach K and all he did was sit me on the bench. Thanks, man. Is that what we’re doing at that school, sending people down, teaching them up? Cool beans, man...Coach, where you at? Help a brother out. Thought we were on the same team, man."

Singler also accused Duke of still asking him for money despite his financial issues, as he said in one of the videos that his assets have been frozen.

"Coach, man, I've reached out to you many times and shared with you where I'm at, and you've just been deflective," he said. "Leaving people in the dust. I don't respect it. You got a player that's been traded, baby."

What else did Kyle Singler say in social media video

Singler's three-video rant also included him claiming that people were trying to kill him and that he continues to be targeted in crimes in the Oklahoma area.

"I'm out in Oklahoma, I go out walking the street, I get pulled, I get arrested, I get f–king checked, I get kicked out of restaurants," Singler said. "I can’t even live anymore. Can't even say, 'Hey, how’s it going?' without confrontation...I'm stuck at my house and I can't leave, I feel imprisoned. Where we at? Leaving people stranded. I've tried to share messages about where we're at and back home I got people, my friends, family, devastated and gone, died, and again my life's on the line

"Reached out to Coach K," Singler said "And all he did is sit me on the bench."

It's not entirely clear what Singler meant when he referenced Coach K sitting him "on the bench." The crux of Singler's videos, however, was targeted at both Duke and Krzyzewski, but they still painted a picture of what the former basketball player is dealing with now.

What happened to Kyle Singler?

Singler last played in the NBA in 2018 and has dealt with trouble in the past few years. In 2024, Singler posted a different series of videos claiming he was fearful for his life every day.

"I have been mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example," he said at the time. "And I fear for my life every day. And people in my community make me look out as if I'm going to be someone that’s going to be a problem and make things difficult for people when I'm only trying to be helpful."

Then, in October of 2025, Singler was arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening his girlfriend in a domestic dispute. A few months later, he posted another series of Instagram videos pleading for help and claiming he's being targeted.

"I don't feel safe," he said. "I've got people in my life taking my money — this is a message to everybody in my life who has been messing with me. My child is being sexually, physically, emotionally, spiritually abused. Shame on everybody that knows me that's not helping, not intervening."
