Something wicked this way comes.
Kristin Chenoweth has addressed the longstanding rumors that she and former co-star Idina Menzel didn’t get along during their original run of “Wicked” on Broadway roughly 20 years ago.
“We are so different in the way we do our process that of course rumors are going to fly, right?” Chenoweth, 57, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Monday.
“She and I, only we know what we went through to get to where we were,” the “Queen of Versailles” star, who originated the role of Glinda opposite Menzel’s Elphaba in 2003, added.
Chenoweth went on to say that she and her former “Wicked” co-star are like siblings.
“We would die for each other,” she shared. “So it’s like sisters. Are sisters always perfect? So it’s family. That’s the best way I can describe it.”
Reports of a feud between Chenoweth and Menzel, 54, began during the original production of “Wicked” 22 years ago.
The rumors picked up steam one year later when the pair were both nominated for a Tony Award for their respective roles in the hit Broadway musical, although Menzel would ultimately be the one to win for Best Lead Actress in a Musical.
Chenoweth and Menzel previously addressed their rumored feud during a joint interview with Vulture in 2023.
“I’m sure, as a sister, I got on her nerves sometimes,” the “Deck the Halls” star admitted at the time. “I’m positive I did. I get on my own nerves most of the time. But you also know what the other one’s going through. Nobody else can know that but us.”
Menzel shrugged off feud rumors as well.
“Whatever was going on in our own lives, it was nice to always be able to come to that at the end of a show,” she told the outlet two years ago. “We would always look at each other and say, ‘I got you. You got me. We’re making this thing together. We love each other.’”
“People were saying stuff out there, and we were good at trying to bring it back to the two of us,” Menzel added, “because that’s all that matters.”
Elsewhere during her chat with THR, Chenoweth discussed last year’s “Wicked” film adaptation starring Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
The movie, which was released last November, featured short cameos of both Chenoweth and Menzel in a scene that was reportedly created just for them.
“Wicked: For Good,” meanwhile, releases later this month. The highly anticipated sequel is set to finish the story that started with last year’s “Wicked.”
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about that,” Chenoweth said when asked if she might make another cameo in the upcoming flick. “I don’t think it hurts to say no, I’m not.”
“I think we kind of did our thing and passed the broom and wand, so to speak,” she added before bringing up Grande. “But I can’t wait to see it. I kind of know a lot about it from my girl, so I just can’t wait.”
