Knicks trounce Celtics in Game 6 to make first East Conference Finals in 25 years

The Knicks didn’t leave anything to chance in Game 6.

They thumped the Celtics, 119-81, in front of a home crowd at Madison Square Garden, taking full advantage of their second attempt to close out Boston and setting a date in the Eastern Conference Finals with the Pacers.

Six Knicks players reached double-digit points, with Josh Hart notching a triple-double.

Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby posted double-doubles in a dominant showing.

With Boston star Jayson Tatum sidelined by an Achilles tear, Jaylen Brown posted a 20-point effort before fouling out in the third quarter.

The win marks the first time the Knicks closed out a series at home since 1999.

Game 1 of the East Finals — the Knicks’ first appearance in the third round since 2000 — is set for Weds., May 21.
