The Knicks’ bench is getting an unexpected post-trade-deadline jolt.
Jeremy Sochan, a 6-foot-8 wing who was waived by the Spurs this week, plans to sign with the Knicks after he clears waivers, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday.
The 22-year-old fell out of favor with the Spurs this season, but the No. 9 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft showed potential during his first three seasons and is a strong defender.

He made the All-Rookie team in 2022-23.
The Knicks acquired guard Jose Alvarado from the Pelicans at the deadline to strengthen their bench, with Miles McBride out for a while after undergoing sports hernia surgery. McBride could be back before the playoffs.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
