Knicks predicted to outbid Cavaliers, Lakers for $63M ex-Nuggets NBA champion on cheap deal

Bruce Brown is an NBA champion with a lot of respect across the league, and it is well deserved as he is the true definition of a veteran. The most successful run of his career came with the Denver Nuggets a few years ago.

Now, he is looking to continue his career with whichever contending team would like to bring him in. There are known go be three playoff teams interested in him.

“The Cavaliers, Heat and Lakers have recently expressed free agent interest in Bruce Brown. Now one of the best available unrestricted free agents, the versatile guard could help complete a title-contending rotation," NBA reporter Evan Sidery wrote.

Out of all the teams with interest in him, it would make sense for Brown to go to New York and back up Jalen Brunson. SI’s Steven Simineri believes the Knicks should sign him to a minimum deal.

“Brown's affinity for New York is real, and so is his desire to play for a contender. It doesn't hurt that he's a CAA client and has made over $60 million, so he should be fine with accepting another minimum contract, even if it means having to fight his way onto the roster,” Simineri wrote.

This would be a great deal for New York, as the Knicks would get one of the best veteran backups in the game right before training camp. Head coach Mike Brown could use Brown in a variety of different roles.

“On the Knicks, Brown is one of those guys Mike Brown could plug and play to the Knicks' best interest. He can start in someone's absence, come off the bench, or even be utilized as a leader in the locker room, particularly when adversity strikes and New York needs a voice. The bottom line is: Brown will do whatever is asked of him on a nightly basis," Daily Knicks' Iliyan Lakhani wrote.

The Knicks would be a better team with Brown, and he only has one thing on his mind, which is to win another championship. The entire city of New York will be ready to win another championship, so adding Brown makes too much sense.

Brown has made $63 million in his career. He can be a primary ball handler if the Knicks need him to be, or he can simply be the backup when Brunson needs a rest. The biggest thing is that both players can learn from each other.
