Here are a few things the Knicks should think about doing as they prepare for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Friday night into Saturday afternoon:
They should take a block of rooms at the Aman New York at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. Sure, the rooms go for a cool $2,200 a night, but we can assume James Dolan wouldn’t blink at the 60 large or so it’d set him back to quarter his team and its support staff for the night.
The players should pool their per diem money, and then maybe dig a little deeper out of their own pocket, and order in a fine Friday night dinner from, say, Eleven Madison Park. Better yet: Charge the meal to Dolan. He’ll earn it back by halftime Saturday. If time allows? High-tail it after dinner (in cabs, not limos) to the Barrymore Theater and get courtside seats for “Othello.”
Lastly: Rent a bus, take that to work on the 25-block trip south to Madison Square Garden.
