Knicks interested in 6-foot-8, former top-10 pick

Despite the Knicks' recent struggles, it doesn't appear that a player like Karl-Anthony Towns or any of the other Knicks stars will be traded in the coming weeks, unless a superstar like Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes available.

That means that any players they target at the deadline will likely be on cheaper contracts, as they survey their options.

Rumors have suggested the Knicks are shopping Guerschon Yabusele, and there's one player that they've been rumored to be potentially hunting in a Yabusele trade.

What former top-10 pick are the Knicks interested in?

NBA insider Brett Siegel reported that the Knicks have been iquiring on Spurs' forward Jeremy Sochan.

Siegel detailed, "Sochan is in the final year of his rookie contract and will be a restricted free agent in the summer."

A common trade deadline theme is getting players as 'rentals.'

This typically means the player is on an expiring contract and not making a ton of money, which makes them appealing to contenders who don't have a ton of financial flexibility.

Sochan fits the 'rental' mold, as he's set to become a RFA this offseason.

Sochan would be a nice addition to the Knicks roster, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of interest from San Antonio in terms of a Sochan/Yabusele swap.

The two teams don't seem to be anywhere close to talks on a deal, but the Knicks seem motivated to trade Yabusele's contract away, so they could get aggressive in trade discussions with the Spurs or another team to try to get a trade done.
